What is Oasis?

Oasis Network is a proof-of-stake Layer 1 built for confidential compute: smart contracts can operate on encrypted inputs in specialized runtimes—Sapphire is the well-known TEE-backed private EVM environment where contracts can use privacy primitives not available on transparent chains.

ROSE pays fees, secures validators, and delegates governance/incentives per current parameters. The project also promotes privacy layers for other ecosystems (cross-chain private calls), which introduces bridge/trust assumptions users must scrutinize.
